Can you really be transgender and Mormon? Most would agree that on a basic level, the answer is yes. But what does that really look like on a practical, day-to-day basis? What is gender dysphoria and how does it impact one’s ability to function? In such a gendered religious experience as Mormonism, how does a transgender person find their place in the community? What answers does the LDS Church provide to transgender members and their loved ones? And what does the Church Handbook of Instructions and the Proclamation on the Family have to say about gender and how do trans members reconcile themselves to those statements?
